Diban understands that being environmentally sustainable is vital for the well-being of our planet, our customers, and the communities in which we operate. It is also important for the long-term success of our organisation, with staff from across the business dedicated to working in a more environmentally friendly way.
In collaboration with our clients and industry partners, we want to be a leading force in the decarbonization of the construction industry. We hope to place responsibility and sustainability at the heart of our growth strategy, helping us lead the way towards a greener future.
Our Sustainability Principles
Transport
In order to switch our fleet to electric and install charging points at our depots, we are also studying staff's driving habits to help them travel more efficiently. Where possible we use electric plant machinery; however, we also use cleaner biofuels including Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil.
Clean Energy
We are investing in green power supply across the entire company and have converted all of our utility tariffs to 100% renewable energy. Diban is committed to increasing energy efficiency at each of our regional depots.
Materials
We have created a carbon footprint calculator that analyses all of our construction emissions on any given project or long-term contract. We are dedicated to working with customers and exploring low-carbon design alternatives. The technology enables us to save emissions by assisting our clients in choosing their products with more knowledge.
Waste
Diban prides itself on diverting 100% of all construction waste from landfills by recycling and reusing materials across the entire organisation.
Supply Chain
Diban is committed to using more sustainable products and utilising better working techniques through collaboration with our supply chain partners. As we work to consistently improve our processes, we track and record the emissions lifecycles of all of our projects.
Biodiversity
By adding plants and other foliage as well as sustainable drainage solutions, we make the communities where we work greener. To cut emissions and enhance air quality, Diban has also pledged to planting one tree for every contract's worth of carbon dioxide equivalents.
